If you have an addon domain, it can be converted into an independent web hosting account if you want the particular domain to have dedicated resources.
The first thing you need to do is order a web hosting for the specific domain. If you already have the domain on your account or pay for it elsewhere other than nordicway, you should order WITHOUT transferring the domain.
After this, you have two options:
You move the content from the addon domain to the new independent web hosting yourself
Your addon domain cannot exist on two accounts at the same time, and therefore a move to independent web hosting must be done in this way:
- You download files and the database from the website, so you have them locally on your computer
- Forward or save important emails from email accounts associated with the addon domain
- Delete the addon domain
- nordicway creates new web hosting for the former addon domain
- Upload the website and database to the new web hosting - test that the website works.
- Possibly create email addresses for the addon domain.
The new web hosting will not necessarily be placed on the same server as where the addon domain was located before.
IMPORTANT: You are responsible for downloading all the necessary files and uploading them to the new web hosting. If your website does not work after uploading to the new web hosting, it is primarily your responsibility to find the cause, as it typically is due to errors in the upload and setup of the website on the new web hosting.

If you want us to handle the entire conversion of your addon domain to an independent web hosting, this can be purchased as a separate service.
The conversion costs 45 EUR including VAT, and is a one-time fee.
We will take care of converting your addon domain as well as the associated website, databases, emails, and DNS to an independent web hosting.
Since you will be getting a new web hosting service with dedicated resources, you must ensure that you have purchased a web hosting plan for the respective domain through our website before the transition.
You must accept and be aware of the following if we are to do it for you:
- No subdomains must have been created on the addon domain
- The new web hosting will always be placed on the same server as where the former addon domain was located.
- If there are special configurations on the addon domain, e.g. in terms of DNS, it is your responsibility to make us aware of this before we start the conversion.
